Cara Stevens
Managing Partner

Cara comes from a long line of small business owners and got an early start working for family-owned businesses. She worked over 10 years for multi-national investment firms but realized her greatest satisfaction came from working hands-on with small business owners. After starting her family and helping her husband’s law firm implement a new accounting system, she began helping other small business owners with back office support until, organically, her small business flourished.
Lydia Scarlett
Managing Partner

In 2014, after 7 years in corporate finance roles, Lydia ventured into self-employment, doing accounting and financial reporting for local small businesses owners within her network. Three years later, through a serendipitous introduction, Lyra was conceived as both a merger of names (LY in "Lydia" + RA in "Cara") and solo bookkeeping practices. Lydia's focus has been leading Lyra beyond bookkeeping by growing the depth of expertise that is foundational for small business success.
